About suggested energy goal

Your suggested energy goal serves as a helpful starting point for your daily energy requirements.

This suggested energy goal represents your daily energy needs, measured in either calories or kilojoules. However, individuals with chronic diseases, physical disabilities, or other serious medical conditions may have unique dietary needs. For personalised guidance, we recommend consulting with an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) to tailor your energy goal to your specific circumstances.

Our energy goal calculation takes into account the energy expended during activities of daily living providing your baseline requirements. Energy burned during discretionary exercises, such as running, cycling, swimming, or gym workouts, is not automatically factored into your energy goal.

When you log your exercise activities in the diary, the calories or kilojoules burned will be accounted for as an additional allocation, contributing to the overall energy balance displayed on the diary screen. This way, you can keep a detailed track of your daily energy consumption and expenditure.
