Logging foods that aren't in the database

When a food is not in the database, you can create your own. You just need to know its energy (kJ or Cal) per serve.

To create a food and log it in your diary

  1. Open the Easy Diet Diary app. 
  2. In the Diary screen, locate the meal you wish to add a food to and tap Add.
  3. Select the My foods tab.
  4. Type the name of the food you wish to create and select Create custom food, your search term will be prefilled as the food name. 
  5. Enter the serving size and energy.
  6. Optional - Enter the foods protein, total fat, saturated fat, carbohydrate, sugar, fibre, sodium, calcium, potassium and phosphorus values. 
  7. At the top of the screen, tap Save
  8. Select the food from your My Foods list. 
  9. Enter the Amount and Measure.
  10. Tap Add.

To use this food again in your diary, locate the meal you wish to add a food to and tap Add, tap the My Foods tab and the food will be listed there.

Your custom foods can be viewed again by selecting the Resources tab and selecting My Foods
